The short answer: a farm’s site is usually a simple catalogue: what it produces, when, where to buy and how to order. It is light, and the entry plan is fine. What decides whether it sells is being easy to open on a phone with a weak signal and having a direct contact.
What weighs, and what does not
| Part of the site | What to do |
| Products | A photo, the name, the unit and the price as text (not in an image), with the date of the last update. |
| Seasons | What is available changes with the year. Pick a tool in which the team can change the text without asking anyone. |
| Orders | Often the phone and WhatsApp are enough. See Putting WhatsApp on your site and The WhatsApp Business catalogue. |
| Slow connections | Buyers may be in an area with little signal. Light pages, few big photos: A site that loads on slow mobile data. |
| How to get there | The address, directions in text and a call button. See Being found on Google. |
How to choose, step by step
|
|
|
|
| Promise only what you can deliver on the date. If the catalogue says a product is available and it no longer is, the customer is worse off than without a catalogue. Update it or say “on request”. |
| An Instagram or Facebook account does not replace the site: people search on Google and want to see the price and contact without having to log in anywhere. |

In our plans
| Situation | Plan | Why |
| A catalogue of products, with contacts and how to order | Pro | 1 site, 10 GB SSD NVMe is plenty for light pages, and there are unlimited e-mail accounts on the farm’s own domain. |
| Several brands, a cooperative, or a second site (for example a shop) | Plus | 6 sites and 20 GB SSD NVMe. |
| Lots of photographs and videos of the work and the seasons | Ultra or Business | Unlimited sites and 30 to 200 GB SSD NVMe. |
When to move up: move up when the photographs of each season start to fill the disk, when you want a separate site for another brand or product line, or on the day you start taking payment on the site, because then it is a shop and a different set of needs (see Which hosting plan for an online shop). Moving up can be done at any time without losing the site. Every plan has an automatic daily backup with free restores, which is handy when someone on the team changes the catalogue by mistake.
