Meu MozOut vs Plesk: how they differ and which panel we use

Plesk is a hosting panel, like cPanel. It does the same job — files, e-mail, databases — with a different interface. And like cPanel, it does not replace Meu MozOut: they sit at different levels.

The three, side by side

What it is for Who uses it
Meu MozOut Your account with us: invoices, services, domains, support tickets. All of our clients.
cPanel The hosting panel: files, e-mail, databases, backups. It is the panel on our hosting plans.
Plesk The same role as cPanel, different interface. Used on Windows hosting. It is the panel on our Windows plans.

Which one is ours

It depends on the plan: on Linux plans the panel is cPanel; on Windows plans it is Plesk. So if you are used to Plesk you do not have to change habits — and neither do you if you come from cPanel.

In Plesk it is called... In cPanel it is...
File Manager File Manager The same, inside public_html.
Databases MySQL Databases / phpMyAdmin Create and administer databases.
Mail Email Accounts Create mailboxes, aliases and forwarders.
Domains > DNS Zone Editor The domain's A, MX and TXT records.
Backup Manager JetBackup Backups and restores.

If you are coming from a Plesk provider

1 The site comes across: files, database and e-mail migrate without trouble.
2 The panel does not. On our side a new cPanel is created and the content goes into it.
3 Anything relying on Windows-specific features has to be checked first — tell us what the site uses.
Do not work in both panels for the same site. While the migration runs, editing files on both sides guarantees one copy goes stale. Pick a side, and only switch once the new one is confirmed.
Meu MozOut stays the same. Whatever the technical panel, invoices, renewals and support tickets live in Meu MozOut. That does not change.
